Candice Bergen
Candice Bergen first rose to prominence in the 1960s as a fashion model and actress. She came from a family with a long history in the entertainment industry, as her father was the famous ventriloquist Edgar Bergen. Bergen's first major acting role was in the 1966 film "The Group," which was based on a novel by Mary McCarthy about a group of young women who had just graduated from college. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Bergen received positive reviews for her performance as the character Lakey.
